RentEase has a system in place to prevent duplicate payments, which restricts payment method changes under certain conditions. Below is a detailed explanation.
When You Cannot Change Your Payment Method
After the First Payment
Once your first payment is completed, your payment method is locked until the 15th at 9:00 AM of the following month.
Examples
- First payment on June 20 → Payment method cannot be changed until July 15 at 9:00 AM
- First payment on July 3 → Payment method cannot be changed until July 15 at 9:00 AM.
After Adding a New Credit Card
When you add a new card, a payment is immediately processed. This new card is locked as the main card until the 15th at 9:00 AM of the following month.
Examples
- New card added on June 27 → That card will be the main card until July 15 at 9:00 AM.
When the Lock Period Ends
Once the lock period ends, you can freely switch payment methods or change the main card. If you add a new card during this time, a new 15-day lock period will apply.
When You Can Change Your Payment Method
Switching Between Already Registered Cards
You can freely switch between previously registered cards without restrictions. No lock period applies when switching between existing cards.
